What is your Big Idea for Philadelphia?
Philly Faith in Action

POWER, the region’s leading interfaith movement, believes that all people deserve dignity, respect, and should have a say in the decisions that shape their lives. Community members know best what’s best their families and neighbors and need their voices at the center of this city’s political life. POWER recognizes and seeks to address the fact that it is the poor, communities of color, and working families who suffer the brunt of declining opportunities and dysfunctional systems. This is why we commit to calling attention to this brokenness, to advance concrete policy changes to reform these systems and to work with public and private sector leaders to bring the necessary resources to bear to turn these systems around.

Through our issue-based campaigns and local community engagement, we develop community leaders who learn how to build and sustain strong teams and networks, research and analyze community issues, develop campaign strategy, and work with elected officials to implement changes in public policy. Building upon unified values of justice, POWER congregations have the ability to act on a comprehensive vision for their communities, cities, and regions. We strive to create a Philadelphia for people looking to put their faith values into action to address the root causes of injustice and oppression.
